Abington is one of Montgomery County’s oldest communities dating back to before 1700.  With approximately 56,000 residents, Abington is a thriving community strategically located on the border of Philadelphia and Montgomery counties, making it an ideal home for commuters to Center City.  Elegant older homes are the trademark of this area, although new constructions harmonize beautifully with the stately mansions of the past.  Abington is a desirable residential area that contains a major shopping center, many small businesses, and a few of Montgomery County's largest employers.  Communities within the township include Glenside, Meadowbrook, North Hills, Roslyn, Rydal and Willow Grove.
