Clinton, NY Overview

Clinton is located in the west central part of Dutchess County.  It is bounded on the north by Rhinebeck and Milan, on the south by Pleasant Valley, on the east by Washington and Stanford, and on the west by Hyde Park.  The town has a total area of 38.8 square miles and a population over 4,000.  The town was named in honor of Governor George Clinton, governor of New York during the Revolutionary War.  Clinton township is peaceful and tranquil yet easily accessible to major urban areas.  Clinton is home to Upton Lake Grange, a premier historic building.  Retail facilities along the Route 9 corridor are convenient for local shopping.  Sports and recreational amenities in and near this area include ball fields and athletic leagues, playgrounds, the open space and natural beauty of state and county parks, tennis courts, local parks, swimming pools, golf courses, and country clubs.
