Shamong is a township in Burlington County. It borders Medford Township, Tabernacle Township, Washington Township, Camden County, and Atlantic County. The township has a total area of 45.1 square miles and a population around 6,500. New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked Shamong Township the 6th best place to live in its 2008 rankings of the "Best Places To Live" in New Jersey. This panoramic township is located in the central to east-central section of Burlington County.
