Delran, NJ Overview

Delran is a township in Burlington County.  It borders Delanco Township, Riverside Township, Moorestown Township, Willingboro Township, Cinnaminson Township and the Delaware River.  The township has a total area of 7.2 square miles and a population around 15,500.  The township's name is a combination of the names of the two rivers that meet here: the Delaware River and Rancocas Creek.  Delran is a well developed and attractive haven of well kept neighborhoods along tree lined streets.  Delran boasts upscale recreational facilities, its own medical center, and several large shopping centers.  It provides single-family and multi-family housing options in a wide selection of architectural styles, although commuters must travel to Haddonfield for connections to other major employment centers.   Recreational opportunities for Delran residents revolve around the mile-long marina area on the Delaware River, as well as the highly developed athletic and sports programs within the township.  Boating facilities are available on the Delaware River, and hundreds of acres in the township are preserved for recreation.
