Abingdon lies 25 miles northeast of Baltimore, near the Bush River.  It was founded by William Paca, the third governor of Maryland and signer of the Declaration of Independence.  It was named after Abingdon, England.  The community of Abingdon harmonizes suburban and rural lifestyles that are enhanced by the rolling Bush River and its first-rate recreational opportunities for water sports.
