Woodbine is a cultural diverse community in Cape May County, in the Ocean City metro area. It borders Dennis Township and Upper Township. The borough has a total area of 8 square miles, all of which is land, and a population over 2,500. This peaceful, rural community has a rich, historic past and once served as the county's busy industrial center. The Woodbine Brotherhood Synagogue, built in the 1890's, was the primary synagogue for a group of emigrants who came to America to escape Czarist Russia. The state operated Woodbine Developmental Center, serves as a training facility the mentally-handicapped. It is also Cape May County's largest employer.
