North Wildwood borders Stone Harbor Borough, Wildwood City, West Wildwood Borough, Middle Township, and the Atlantic Ocean. It was ranked the fourth best beach in New Jersey in the 2008 Top 10 Beaches Contest, which was sponsored by the New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium. North Wildwood boasts the state’s first street-to-beach tram service, and is home to two destinations on the New Jersey Coastal Heritage Trail: The Hereford Inlet Lighthouse and Marine Police Station.
