About Willingboro
Willingboro is a township in Burlington County and a suburb of Philadelphia. It was originally developed in the 1950s and 1960s as a planned community by Abraham Levitt and Sons in the Levittown model. The township encompasses 7.8 square miles and is bordered by Route 130 on the north, Rancocas Creek on the west, Westampton Township on the south, and Burlington Township on the east. The population of Willingboro is approximately 34,000. There are 10,913 single-family homes, divided among twelve sections of the town and 763 townhouses concentrated in two areas, one senior housing complex containing 104 apartments, an apartment complex at the Town Center, and 166 commercial buildings as well as a number of pre-Levitt homes. Recreational facilities include three park areas: Broido Park, Crystal Lake and Millcreek Park, an area of approximately 178 acres. Willingboro Lakes Nature Preserve contains two lakes. The Preserve is home to a diverse population of fish, birds, and small animals. The Township also operates the Kennedy Center, which offers a wide variety of recreation activities, cultural and fine arts events, and the swimming pools in Country Club Park and Pennypacker Park. Major highways nearby are: New Jersey Turnpike, Interstate 295, and NJ Route 130
