Smaller all-timber tracts in southeast Iowa with privacy, good habitat, and room for improvement can be difficult to find. Located at the end of a dead-end road between West Point and Fort Madison, this 80-acre property offers a secluded setting in eastern Lee County that's well-suited for hunting and recreation. Accessed from the northwest corner of Maple Lane, the property lies within the Devil's Creek area and is surrounded by a large block of timber, creating the type of landscape that supports deer and turkey year-round. Rolling hardwood ridges, creek bottoms, and natural travel corridors provide a variety of terrain and hunting opportunities. A trail system leads south from the entrance to a 1.5-acre opening near the creek that's currently established in native grasses and forbs. Continuing east, a second opening of approximately 7 acres offers a good location for a destination food plot or additional habitat improvements. Corn, soybeans, brassicas, or perennial forage could all work well in this secluded part of the farm. These two fields were in CRP until 2025.
