The cottage at Signal Rock is so named because of its location near a NY State Historic marker indicating that the place was of strategic importance to aboriginal Americans, who were able to see for miles from this very spot. The current house site enjoys a fascinating view over the storied Silvernails Valley, to Stissing Mountain and the Stissing Fire Tower, high above Pine Plains, NY.
