MORRIS PLAINS, N.J., – The recently passed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, including the $8,000 tax credit for first-time buyers, presents an excellent opportunity for buyers ready to take advantage of today’s affordable market.  Nonetheless, many first-time buyers might be unsure just exactly how the tax credit works or how it improves upon a similar credit offered last year.

To help prospective first-time buyers understand the advantages of the $8,000 tax credit and capitalize on this financial incentive before it is no longer available, Weichert Realtors® will host a seminar on Saturday March 21 in each of its approximately 500 company owned and franchised offices nationwide. Through the seminar, Weichert, Realtors, along with its affiliate companies, Weichert Financial Services and Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc., will help educate first-time homebuyers on the specifics of the tax credit created by Congress and the other benefits of buying a home in the current market.

“Our seminar is intended to shed light of the many reasons why the new tax credit provides a wonderful opportunity for first-time buyers,” said James M. Weichert, president and founder of Weichert, Realtors.  “With interest rates at a historically low level, plenty of affordable homes to choose from, and the added benefit of this tax credit, buyers are in a great position to make their dreams of homeownership a reality.”

This free, no-obligation, special seminar, beginning at 11:00 a.m., will include a brief presentation followed by a question and answer session.  An experienced tax professional will be on hand at each seminar to provide an overview of the $8,000 tax credit and to explain the tax benefits of owning a home.  Weichert managers and sales associates will also review the current market and illustrate why now is a great time to buy.   To reserve your seat at the tax credit seminar, call your local Weichert office.

Weichert has nearly 18,000 sales associates in approximately 500 company-owned and franchised sales offices in key markets throughout the U.S.  A family of full-service real estate and financial services companies, Weichert helps customers buy and sell both residential and commercial real estate, and streamlines the delivery of mortgages and home and title insurance.  For more information, Weichert's customer service center can be reached at 1-800-USA-SOLD or at Weichert's Web site, www.weichert.com.  Each Weichert franchised office is independently owned and operated.
