Three Weichert, Realtors Sales Associates Earn NJAR Good Neighbor Awards

2/3/2005

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. -- Sales associates in three of Weichert, Realtors® branch offices were recognized by the New Jersey Association of Realtors (NJAR) with Good Neighbor Awards for their community service.

The three are Susan Schneider-Baker, South Brunswick branch office, Hannelore von Aulock, Bedminster branch office and Cynthia Guariglia, Holmdel branch office.

The first-place winner is Schneider-Baker for her extraordinary commitment to improve the quality of life in her community through the United Presbyterian Church of Jamesburg’s Food Cupboard. Schneider-Baker has been working with the Food Cupboard since becoming a member of the church’s board of deacons in 1979. She organizes volunteers in the collection and monthly distribution of non-perishable food and personal care items that are provided to needy residents in the Jamesburg, Monroe Township, Helmetta and Spotswood areas. A $2,500 donation will be sent to the United Presbyterian Church of Jamesburg, Deacons Food Cupboard in Schneider-Baker’s name.

von Aulock was recognized by the NJAR as third-place recipient of the Good Neighbor Award. The award recognizes von Aulock’s steadfast commitment to service in the community. For the past 10 years she has chaired the Food Bank Network food drive on behalf of the Hunterdon/Somerset Association of Realtors (HSAR) community service committee, as well as Weichert’s Bedminster Office. In 2004, the food drive delivered more than 14,000 pounds of food items to area food banks, helping to provide food for approximately 6,300 local families. In recognition of her Good Neighbor award and her nearly 300 hours a year in volunteer work, a donation of $1,000 was made by NJAR in von Aulock’s name to the Food Bank Network.

Guariglia received special recognition for her contributions to the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Relay For Life. Guariglia has worked with the ACS Relay For Life for more than five years. Relay For Life is an awareness program and fundraiser for cancer research, patient service program, advocacy and education. She served as chairman and team captain of the Freehold Relay For Life, served on the National Relay For Life Advisory committee and chaired the Eastern Division Relay For Life Task Force. The Freehold Relay For Life raised more than $1 million over the past five years and reached more than 500 cancer survivors in the community. A $500 donation in Guariglia’s name will be sent to the organization.

As neighborhood specialists, Schneider-Baker, von Aulock and Guariglia are serving in their communities and also helping many find the ‘American Dream’ of home ownership.
