Designed by Taliesin Fellowship architect James Pfefferkorn, who worked alongside Frank Lloyd Wright, this Spring Green retreat was built with intention. A compressed entry with a wood screen opens into the main living space in the tradition of Wright's compression and release, where a soaring limestone fireplace anchors the room. Natural limestone flows from the entry column through the fireplace and accent wall. The kitchen sits at the heart of it all, with granite counters and a peninsula that faces the dining area, made for gathering. The sunroom draws the forest in on three sides, framing 9.81 acres of pine and walking trails, opening to a patio. Upstairs, two bedrooms, two full baths, and a built-in desk loft. The lower level adds two bedrooms and a tiled walk-in shower. Above the detached garage, a heated and cooled studio sits up at tree level, surrounded by the pine canopy, with a vaulted tongue and groove ceiling and a private deck among the birds.
