Owned by the same family since it was built in 1975, this wonderful family home needed a total renovation to get ready for its next family. Imagine this. Wallpaper of many designs and colors, some metallic, some geometric on walls and ceilings–from the foyer to the dining room to bedrooms, bathrooms and even the laundry room. Heavy brick-like tile in the foyer. Unfinished cedar walls in the two-story living room with large rocks floor to ceiling as the fireplace surround and an overlook from the upstairs hall jutting into the room. Carpet with a tile perimeter in the dining room. Brown cabinets with red laminate countertops in the kitchen. Shag carpeting in a variety of colors in the bedrooms. And, surely a one-of-a-kind layout for a primary suite: enter through the bedroom door; or, go into the powder room off the foyer, pass through to a room with a shower and ½ sunken soaking tub, then into the closet which has vanity with another sink, and finally enter the bedroom. Around each corner and through each door, you traveled back in time. Every inch of this home needed to be touched, inside and out. So that became the scope of work for this renovation–along with work on the foundation and property. Along the way, rooms were reconfigured to optimize space and improve the home’s overall functionality for today’s family living, including adding a bedroom, an en-suite bathroom in one of the bedrooms, and a powder room in the basement. The quality of work, finishes, and fixtures exceeds expectations.
