A statistical overview of life in this community

Widely known as the “Township of Lakes,” panoramic Byram Township features more than two dozen picturesque lakes and ponds for a water-rich environment.  Several lakefront communities have sprung up, offering homes that command spectacular views. Once a summer haven for vacationers, the township is a rapidly growing community with a strong appeal for newcomers.  Commercial businesses are clustered in some areas, particularly along Route 206.  This area encompasses Waterloo Village, a restored 18th century village that is widely recognized for its fine crafts, antique festivals, and special events.  Charming older homes harmonize with new construction for a full complement of housing, and recreational amenities are exceptional.  Transportation efficiencies include access to Interstate 80 and Route 206, bus service to New York City, and commuter train service from Stanhope.
