Nissequogue is a village in Suffolk County, in the New York metro area, on the North Shore of Long Island. The community name comes from an Indian tribe. In 2003 the estimated population was 1,577. The Village of Nissequogue is in the Town of Smithtown. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 4 square miles, of which, 3.8 square miles is land and 0.2 square miles is water.
