Beechhurst is a neighborhood in the northeastern part of the New York City borough of Queens. It is on the northeastern side of Whitestone, near the East River, north of the Cross Island Parkway and between the approaches to the Throgs Neck and Whitestone bridges. It is one of the top residential areas in Queens. The word “hurst” means 'grove' in German and the name of this neighborhood celebrates its many beech trees. The neighborhood is comprised of single family homes, tall and small apartment complexes, as well as a large garden apartment complex.
