Manorhaven is a small nautical village along Manhasset Bay in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island in the Town of North Hempstead. It consists of three distinct sections: Orchard Beach, Beach Haven and Manhasset Isle. The village has nearly 50 percent of the waterfront in Port Washington. As of the 2000 census, the population was 6,138. It offers various housing options: houseboats, two-family homes, single-family homes, and garden apartment rentals. The village was once home to maritime workers, sand miners, and landscapers and housekeepers who worked in Sands Point, an affluent neighbor to the north. There is much to do in Manorhaven with marinas, parks, a yacht club and a beach.
