Laurel

County: Prince Georges

Laurel is a charming and "old-fashioned" hometown that provides a strong sense of community.  It is located midway between Washington, D.C. and Baltimore.  This community is also the site of a variety of popular annual celebrations and parades that meander down the picturesque Main Street.  The area has long been a popular horseracing center, drawing enthusiastic crowds to its premier racing venues.  While older homes predominate in the town’s restored historic district, many new subdivisions including the beautiful planned community of Laurel Lakes are also available.  Laurel offers Main Street shopping as well as a large, enclosed regional mall.  Public swimming pools, a public golf course, and active Boys and Girls Clubs are just a few of the advantages that enhance the quality of life in this desirable area.
