Hewlett Bay Park

County: Nassau

Hewlett Bay Park is a tiny village inside the town of Hempstead on the South Shore of Long Island in Nassau County, whose population was 484 as of the 2000 census.  Hewlett Bay Park is included in the Five Towns, which includes the villages of Cedarhurst and Lawrence, the hamlets of Inwood and Woodmere, and "The Hewletts", which consist of the villages of Hewlett Bay Park, Hewlett Harbor, and Hewlett Neck and the hamlet of Hewlett, along with Woodsburgh.  The three incorporated Hewlett villages were created during the 1920s building boom.  Hewlett Bay Park began as a community with guarded entrance gates.  True to their roots as desirable and exclusive enclaves for affluent residents, the three Hewlett villages consistently claim some of the highest median family incomes on Long Island and offer exceptionally attractive homes.
