Greenlawn

County: Suffolk

While the entire North Shore of Long Island is picturesque and serene, the Greenlawn area stands out as a crown jewel that is nestled between the eastern and western ends of the town of Huntington.  Wonderful antique shops, fine dining opportunities, and interesting museums are all encompassed within a six-mile radius.  A fish hatchery, a natural history museum, one of the nation's finest planetariums, and several significant historic buildings add to the attractions.  Homes enjoy a tranquil setting of tree-canopied streets graced by well-manicured lawns and greenery.  Other highlights include the private Centerport Yacht Club, public beaches, and the active Greenlawn-Centerport Historical Society.
