Rutledge founded in 1885, is a borough of 860 residents located in Delaware County, about nine miles southwest of Philadelphia. The borough occupies an area of one square mile and has a fire department, a park and a stately old borough hall. Many of the homes in the tree-lined community date to the late 1800s. Rutledge is part of the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District and the schools are among the finest in the county. Septa’s R3 train line serves the borough with a stop at the Morton-Rutledge Station.
