Phoenixville is a borough in Chester County, 28 miles northwest of Philadelphia, at the junction of French Creek with the Schuylkill River. The population was 14,788 at the 2000 census. Bordering the Main Line’s northern perimeter, the vast farmlands in the Phoenixville area have developed vital commercial and industrial activity in recent years, spawning a proliferation of residential development. Quaint fifty and sixty-year-old homes and twins along shaded streets exude a true “small town” feeling, blending with new single-family construction and townhouse complexes.
