Old Field is a village in the town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County on the North Shore of Long Island. As of the 2000 census the population was 947. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.2 square miles. Old Field Point Light is located on the northern tip of Old Field. Tidal Estuary Flax Pond is another geographic feature of the village. Old Field has changed dramatically from its earliest days to the present, the one constant has been people committed to preserving the beauty and serenity of their beautiful village; contributing in countless way to the betterment of their community and beyond; and extending the welcome hand of friendship to all who visit or decide to make this their permanent home.
