Wanaque is a borough in Passaic County. The borough population is over 10,000. Wanaque Borough includes neighborhoods known as Wanaque and Haskell. Wanaque has very little industrial or commercial development, and a few condominiums combine with neighborhoods of single-family homes. The naturally hilly terrain is enhanced by Wanaque Reservoir, while the close proximity of lush county parks combines with regional state parks for premier recreational opportunities. Nearby Ringwood Manor State Park and Shepherd Lake encourage hiking, biking, fishing, camping and boating. Transportation efficiencies include Interstate 287 and bus service to New York City.
