Howell is a quiet suburban community in Monmouth County with excellent access to the New Jersey shore, New York, Atlantic City and Philadelphia by the nearby Garden State Parkway, Route 195, and busy local roads. It is a family-oriented town with many local and state parks and trails. There are numerous shopping centers of all types. The school system is good and there are a number of religious institutions. It is a bedroom community for the Greater New York City area, but nearby public transportation is limited and most of the town's commuters use their cars.
