About Atlantic Highlands
The borough of Atlantic Highlands provides Victorian charm and a small-town atmosphere along the beautiful Jersey Shore. Atlantic Highlands features the famous Stone Bridge and a municipal harbor with restaurants, gazebos, tennis courts, playgrounds, a fishing pier, and party or charter boats. The borough also operates a high-speed ferry to the "city." The business community includes wonderful seafood and other restaurants, unique shops, and entertainment centers. Surrounding hills include Mt. Mitchill, the highest point along the Eastern shoreline. Atlantic Highlands is part of the Bayshore Regional Strategic Plan, an effort by nine municipalities (Aberdeen, Atlantic Highlands, Hazlet, Highlands, Keansburg, Keyport, Matawan, Middletown and Union Beach) in northern Monmouth County to reinvigorate the area's economy by emphasizing the traditional downtowns, dense residential neighborhoods, maritime history, and the natural beauty of the Raritan Bayshore coastline.
