The small borough of Allenhurst along the coast began as a summer vacation destination.  Eventually, the community evolved into a residential with permanent and seasonal homes.  The borough is home to a scattering of shops and services, although most residents look to Seaview Mall for expanded shopping.  Residents of the community share an appreciation for coastal living and water sports.  The borough provides local parks for relaxation, picnics, and sports play close to home.  Ocean Township's considerable amenities enhance the quality of life.
