The quiet borough of Glen Gardner gets its name from “Glen”, the area in which the town is situated, between two mountains with a stream (Spruce Run) running through the center and “Gardner” the name of the family of five inventive, business-minded brothers who put the town on the map. It borders Bethlehem Township, Hampton Borough, and Lebanon Township. Charming houses and balconies that are built close to the street add to the 19th-century appearance of the cityscape. In the last two decades of the 20th century, townhouses and single-family homes sprang up on the outskirts of the borough and essentially doubled the area's population.
