Union City NJ is just two miles away from New York City, with the Hudson River dividing between them, but can be reached via the its main approach RT 495 bisecting the Lincoln Tunnel. It's population of 66,455 made it in '10 the NJ state's 17th largest municipality, having seen a decline of approximately 1 percent from its population in the 2000 Census. However, it is still the country's most densely populated city. Historically, the Union City schools ranked amongst the highest in the County of Hudson, compared to the size of the student population.
