Deptford is located in northern Gloucester County, about six miles from the center of Philadelphia and ninety miles from New York City.  It was settled in 1623 and is one of the original townships of Gloucester County.  Deptford Township is the county's third most populated municipality.  The township has a total area of 17.6 square miles and a population over 30,000.  The Deptford Mall is the seventh largest shopping mall in New Jersey and the largest in the South Jersey region of the state.  The township creates a relaxed suburban atmosphere within close proximity of cosmopolitan amenities and urban vitality.  Lovely older colonial homes blend beautifully with contemporary styling in attractive residential villages and neighborhoods.  Recreational amenities include lush parks, swimming pools, tennis courts, playgrounds, indoor racquet clubs, athletic fields, wonderful golf courses, and country clubs.
