About Palmyra
Palmyra is a long established and well developed residential borough in the northwestern corner of Burlington County. It is situated on the Delaware River across from Philadelphia. The Borough is two square miles in area and has a population around 7,600. Residents live predominantly in lovely older homes from a variety of architectural periods on tree-shaded streets, which are interspersed with multi-family developments and contemporary residences. This historic community is about 20 minutes from downtown Philadelphia, and 40 minutes from Trenton, by car, bus or commuter rail. The hometown spirit remains strong in Palmyra, where community events and school programs frequently bring friends and neighbors together. Palmyra has developed recreational facilities close to home, although vast acres of parkland and outdoor attractions are available within a short commute in Burlington County and other Southern New Jersey counties.
