Statesboro is a small college town, home to Georgia Southern University. With a population of 30,000 people, the town has a slow southern charm. Starting out as a cotton plantation town in 1803, the area is still full of fluffy white fields around harvest time. The town was mentioned in the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. For the kiddies there is also Splash in the Boro, the local waterpark. The town has an interesting mix of ole southern manners and youthful college energy, and is certain to charm you with its sleepy hospitality.
