Welcome to Old Miakka! Settled by cattlemen in 1850, this Florida Prairie played a starring role in the Sunshine State’s agricultural trade. Welcoming the railroad in 1915, Myakka City was officially established. These seven acres are an ode to a simpler way of life. The flat, dry prairie land is perfect for grazing cattle or goats, training horses or tending the specialty crop of elderberry. Surrounded by a flower farm, honey producers and wedding venues, this site is the perfect spot for you to write your own story, create your own adventure. A horseshoe shaped pond for fishing or watering your livestock and a berm for target practice. Cook dinner over an open fire or gather around the firepit for storytelling. There are a couple of small structures on the property. HIS shed is rustic with a cot and solar panels, the SHE-shed sleeps four with a cozy loft and a composting toilet. There is a new concrete slab to erect another structure. Small wooded patches provide shade or a place to hang your hammocks. This site has a deeded easement for access from Sugar Bowl Road. Just a thirty minute drive from downtown Sarasota and you’ll feel like you are in another world!
