This little tract on Eureka Road is about 4 miles south of Batesville and has potential for several uses. Less than three acres have previously been mined for gravel and dirt, leaving plenty of room for house sites without changing the lay of the land. With some levee work, this could make a nice little pond for fishing and wildlife attraction. Build your house at the back of the property and enjoy a pretty water view. However, if you've got interest in the mining income, a special exception has been approved on the property for mining dirt, sand, and gravel by the county land commission. In the past, gravel, red dirt, and fill dirt have all been sold out of the acreage with unmeasured quantities remaining. Mining can continue without further permitting, but if you wanted to mine as much as four acres or more, it would require additional state permitting.
