Commercial Property for sale in Denver, CO

for $1,295,000. This 7,326 square foot building was built in 1890 on a lot size of 0.22.

For the History Lover and Historic Preservationist, 1129 Pennsylvania is a rare opportunity to own a piece of Denver History. Located on the tree-lined, five-block Pennsylvania Street Historic District, the historic Butters House is a Queen Anne Victorian-style home constructed in 1890. Designed by the famous Frank E. Edbrooks (1840–1921, Supervisor of the building of the Tabor block and the Grand Opera House) is one of the few remaining residences attached to his name. Many of Frank’s designs have been torn down. Still, a few remaining examples include: The Brown Palace Hotel, the Masonic Temple, the Oxford Hotel, the Denver Dry Goods Building, and the original Temple Emanuel. Outside of Denver, his preserved buildings include the Steamboat Springs Depot, Ouray County Courthouse and the Toltec Hotel in Trinidad. The Butters House was built for Alfred Butters, a native of Maine born in 1826, who moved to Denver in 1860. Butters was a substantial cattleman and one of Denver’s most prominent early citizens. He was elected to the territory’s House of Representatives in 1874 and became the Speaker of the House in 1876, after which in the year of Colorado’s statehood, he was elected to the state’s first Senate. In 1981, Preservation Partnership completely refurbished the building. Subsequently, the city council approved its landmark designation.
