Clanton, AL Overview

Serving as the seat of Chilton County government, the leading community of Clanton is home to one of the county's proudest icons: the Clayton Peach Water Tower.  Artfully decorated to resemble a mammoth peach poised on a green stem, the water tower heralds the county's position as the state's largest peach producer.  Clanton welcomes newcomers to tree-shaded neighborhoods lined with a variety of single-family homes as well as opportunities for country living and ample acreage for large animals including horses.  Clanton City Park crowns the city's recreational amenities by providing youth baseball complexes for boys and girls, regulation tennis courts, men's league softball fields, and Jack Hayes Field.  The latter not only serves as the home of the high school baseball team but hosts regional tournaments and the annual peach auction.  The community also provides a swimming pool, weight room, and skill center.

Climate and Weather

The Temperature chart displays average high and low values for January and July, and is designed to provide an indication of both seasonal and daily temperature variability. The national average for each type of weather event equals a score of 100, so a score of 200 would represent twice the risk as the national average, and a score of 50 would represent half the risk of the national average.
