Newtown is a borough in Bucks County. The population was 2,312 at the 2000 census. It is located just west of the Trenton, New Jersey metropolitan area, and is part of the larger Philadelphia metropolitan area. Newtown Borough takes pride in preserving much of its colonial charm and Victorian elegance through historical restoration. Education has always played a major role in Newtown area, the site of the famous Newtown Academy founded in 1798. Today, Council Rock High School stands as one of the foremost secondary schools in Pennsylvania.
