Minutes from home in Troutman are two major hospitals, a community college campus, regional museums, historic district shopping, and popular entertainment venues.  Even the bright lights of Charlotte are only 30 miles from Troutman.  Professional sports, the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, world-class cultural attractions, NASCAR racing, and superb recreational areas are all available within a reasonable commute.  Lake Norman is nearby for virtually unlimited access to water sports, fishing, hiking, picnicking, and relaxing in natural beauty.  Troutman is less than two miles from the Lake Norman State Park, in the northeast corner of the lake.  This small town is most famous as the home of the nationally recognized Hot Air Balloon Rally held at the Iredell County Fairgrounds.
