The residential hamlet of Deer Park is nestled in the northwest corner of the town of Babylon, originally named for the abundance of deer in this area. Rooted in farming and dahlia cultivation, the area quickly blossomed into a suburban haven. Deer Park was a favorite summer destination for President John Quincy Adams, and one of the area schools bears his name and is located on his former estate.
