Getting Ready for Summer
Summer is almost here!
Before the weather gets too hot, take the time to do some simple cleaning and minor repair work around your house that can help make your summer more enjoyable. For many of us, summer is a time when allergies flare up. Cleaning some of the more neglected areas of your home can help eliminate allergens that can exacerbate your discomfort. Keeping up with minor repairs can help you avoid costly repairs down the road.
Take pride in the outward appearance of your home by keeping your lawn and bushes manicured and trimmed. Use a pressure washer to clean your driveway. Try using your favorite cola to clean any stains on your garage floor or driveway. Make sure you repair the screens in your windows and replace the air filter in you
Projects for the inside of the home should include cleaning your ceiling fans and walls. You can easily clean your ceiling fan by using an old pillowcase. Spray a cleaning solution on the inside of the pillowcase, slide it over each individual fan blade and clean off the dust. Dusting the tops of the dressers, the china cabinet in the dining room that's too high for regular cleaning, lamp shades and underneath your couches and beds will help. This will greatly decrease the amount of allergens in your home. Before finishing with the fan make sure the fan is turning in the proper direction. Walls can be cleaned using a vacuum with a brush attachment. This will take care of the dust and cob webs. Any remaining dirt can be taken care of with the use of an all-purpose cleaner. Take this opportunity to repair any dings or holes and touch up the wall with paint.
