Cold Spring

County: Putnam

The historic village of Cold Spring is a small community in southeastern New York that is situated on the east bank of the Hudson River only fifty miles north of Manhattan.  It is one of two incorporated villages within the town of Philipstown.  The village occupies 0.6 square miles across the river from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Main Street is the focal point of a well preserved National Historic District and is lined with novelty and antique shops, clothing stores, coffee houses, restaurants, residences, the Village Hall and a fire department.  Residents are attracted to the breathtaking surroundings and small town character, where they can enjoy a range of cultural and recreational activities.  Whether you are a first time buyer or a city dweller looking to establish a weekend retreat, whether it's a cottage on a dirt road by a babbling brook, or an estate with lands that run to the river, this area offers a wide variety of real estate opportunities.  There are also many commercial opportunities, from storefronts on Main Street to larger properties in the nearby Route 9 corridor for businesses and industrial development.  Rental properties include apartments, condominiums, and private homes that are within walking distance of the Metro North Railroad.
