Pocopson is a township in Chester County, in the Philadelphia-Camden metro area. The community name is derived from an Indian term for "roaring creek". The population, at the time of the 2000 census, was 3,350. Pocopson is a mostly rural community. The township is part of the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District.
