Nether Providence

County: Delaware

Nether Providence founded in 1687 is close-knit community just 15 miles southwest of Philadelphia in Delaware County. Over 13,000 residents live in a 4.6 square mile area of lush green hills, old stone houses and expansive parks.  Residents enjoy outstanding schools, attractive neighborhoods, convenient public transportation, inviting public parks and walking trails and a variety of nearby social, cultural and athletic activities. Major communities in Nether Providence are Garden City, South Media and Wallingford.  In fact, many residents refer to the Nether Providence by the name of its largest community, Wallingford. Nether Providence doesn't have its own downtown, but residents can walk or bike to Media, where there's a movie theater and plenty of locally owned shops and restaurants.
