Highland Mills is a hamlet in the town of Woodbury, next to the New York State Thruway (Interstate 87). It has total area of 1.7 square miles and a population around 3,500. Highland Mills is rich in history and heir to a number of fine older homes and vintage architecture. There is a wide selection of recreational choices available: local parks, lakes, a beach, athletic leagues, ball fields, hiking and biking trails, tennis courts, and golf courses.
