Jaroso, Colorado is a unique mix of old-time family farmers and ranchers, and creative entrepreneurs and artists. Begun in the early 1900's as part of the Southern Colorado railroad, Jaroso was once a bustling business community. Jaroso highlighsthe artists and arts of the valley to which it belongs. Ceramics, sculpture, drum and instrument making, jewelry, painting, music all have their representation in and around this small town. The big high-dessert skies and starlit nights watch over it all. The house sits a half mile from the NM-CO border, an hour to Taos, NM. The house is 3 miles from the historic Rio Grande River. The main living area, as you see it now, was begun around 1988. Front of the house continued around 1994. The strawbale addition went in around 2004 along with the new, raised roof. Outside: fully fenced, horse stall, garden, fruit trees (apple, cherry, plum, pear). Look at that garden area!
