Bayside, Texas is bathed in many historic events. The town was founded near the site of the former community of Black Point in 1908 by E. O. Burton and A. H. Danforth . The most spectacular historic structure in Bayside is the old John H Wood mansion, located just behind the new pier. Built in 1875, timbers for the large, two story, classic revival structure came by sailing vessel from Florida to the then thriving port of St. Mary's. Bayside is also noted as a stopping off place for hummingbirds, waterfowls, and wading birds. If you are looking for a nice quiet place to settle and enjoy the views and sounds of nature Bayside is the place to be. Two wooded lots are waiting for someone to give them some love and build their dream home. The lots are approximately two blocks from the Copano Bay and a short distance to the public fishing pier. City and sewer are available.
