Principal Broker John Brockwell and Realtor Deirdre Portwood lead a team of sales associates serving the Southside of the greater Richmond-Petersburg area. David Wiggins, who is married to Portwood, is the company's Relocation Director.
In addition to outstanding services to the community as real estate specialists, the company prides itself in what it has to offer agents in the areas of training and support. "We deliver the best training in the industry to our new agents, as well as a fine-tuned program for experienced professionals."
John was born and raised in Petersburg and was in real estate for 20 years before becoming a Weichert® franchise owner. A fourth generation Realtor®, he joined the family business of G.E. Matthews Realtors in 1986. Great uncle G.E. Matthews was the original founder (1923) of the real estate sales and property management firm, followed by grandfather Garland Brockwell and father Garland Brockwell, from whom the youngest Brockwell purchased the company. Involved with the Southside Virginia Association of Realtors, he served a term as treasurer and at the time of franchising, was the association's president-elect. He is also active in the community and is a past president of the Petersburg Rotary Club and an active member.
Deirdre came to the partnership as a 13-year real estate veteran who rose to the top agent position with another local franchise within her first five years in the field, achieving the first-ever topmost award for that organization in the office's history, and maintaining that prominence until her departure. Her mother was also a Realtor®, so she literally "grew up in the business." She was elected as a Director of the Southside Association of Realtors® and serves on the Board of Tri-Cities Habitat for Humanities.
David had six years real estate experience to his credit on opening day in January 2006. He began his career with Long & Foster. He expects to put Weichert's reputation in the relocation arena to good use as Relocation Director.
