Asbury Park

The well-known New Jersey city of Asbury Park is situated on the coast and was first developed as a resort in the late 1800s after the railroad made it easily accessible. Primarily residential, this oceanfront community with its attractive boardwalk is also surrounded by scenic lakes on three sides.  Housing options are diverse and attractive, from well-kept older homes in quiet neighborhoods to newer construction that includes apartments, condominiums, and developments for seniors.  Vintage Victorians occasionally appear on the market.  Recreational amenities are well developed and included oceanfront water sports, boating, an active YMCA, lush parks, state parkland, playgrounds, athletic fields and league sports, swimming pools, and supervised recreation programs for all age groups.
