Like many of the small villages that were incorporated on the Great Neck peninsula, Kings Point was home to residents who wanted to preserve the rural charm and identity of their community. It was a former Chrysler estate that eventually became the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the 35-room marble mansion now serves as the administration hall.
